We also have a selection of extra items, including a 1950s T.V, available for hire alongside the loan boxes for £5 per item; these should be listed in the catalogue. Please state your requirements when contacting the museum.

Hiring procedure

To arrange to borrow a loan box you can either ring the museum on 01252 715094 and check that the box is available or send us an email amanda.pettey@farnhammaltings.com,

Let us know the name of the box and extra items that you would like to borrow and when you would like the box. We will aim to get back to you as soon as possible.

You will need to pick up the box from and return the box to the Museum on the date stated on the loan form.  Please pay for the box when you come to collect it.  Payment can be made by cheque or cash. Cheques should be made payable to Farnham Maltings Associations Ltd. A receipt will be given.  It is advisable to allow at least 15 minutes admin time to check the contents of the box and for payment when either arriving or collecting the box. Parking outside the museum is limited so it is a good idea to give the museum an indication of the time you are planning to collect or return boxes so you can be dealt with as efficiently as possible.

Reminiscence Loan boxes

There is a set of reminiscence loan boxes available for hire for people working with the  elderly either in a residential setting or as a private carer.

Please call the museum on 01252 715094 for a copy of the Reminiscence Box Catalogue.

Boxes are available for hire for up to three weeks for £10 per box.

Lost or broken items

Please make sure that you and a member of staff go through the contents of the box you  are taking  and check that you agree about the condition and content of the box before borrowing the box.  The Museum has a list of all items and their replacement value.  If any of the items in the box are missing or damaged you will be asked to reimburse the museum.
