Museum visits for families
The Museum provides a range of children’s activities throughout the year. All temporary exhibitions contain children’s activities and activity packs for the permanent galleries are available from the admissions desk.
Holiday drop-in days
Drop-in for our half term sessions and enjoy art and craft activities, storytelling and fun! Run in the school holidays and suitable for children 3+. Children must be accompanied by an adult.
Drop-in-Day: Picture This
31st May & 1st June · 10:30am-12:30pm or 1:30pm-3:30pm · £3 per child per session
Come and join us for a fun-filled art and craft session inspired by the fabulous photographs featured in the John Henry Knight exhibition – JHK – Through the Lens. Drop in any time between 10:30am-12:30pm or 1:30pm-3:30pm.
All materials included. Children must be accompanied by an adult. Please note that you may have to wait if the Garden Gallery is full. For ages 3-7.
Crafternoons: Time Travellers
Thursdays: 27 July; 03, 17 & 24 August · 2pm–3.30pm weekly · £1 per child
Travel back in time to explore the art and craft of the Ancient Egyptians, Greeks and Romans. All materials included. Children must be accompanied by an adult. For ages 3-11. Please note that you may have to wait if the Garden gallery is full.
We’re Going on a Bug Hunt!
10th August · 10:30am-12:30pm or 1:30pm-3:30pm · £5 per child, per sessions.
Join us for a fun and informative session in our beautiful garden exploring the amazing world of insects. Take part in a minibeast safari, find out about food chains and build a bug hotel.
