Farnham Maltings and Eagle Radio are working on a new project especially for young people over the next six months, running workshops with media professionals once per month on broadcasting, presenting and media and showcasing work on a new culture and arts radio show launching on Eagle Radio.
We are looking for young people to take part in these workshops and act as Farnham Maltings Young Ambassadors, getting involved in events happening at the Maltings by taking part in workshops once per month run by Eagle Radio. These workshops will teach broadcasting and presenting skills by media professionals and will give participants industry experience of working with a national radio station. Being a Farnham Maltings young Ambassador will also offer young people the opportunity to get more involved in the Maltings and what’s going on in the venue and a chance to showcase their presenting and broadcasting skills on a new arts and culture radio programme broadcast on Eagle Radio. The scheme is free and open to all young people ages 13+.
The next Young Ambassadors, Eagle Radio workshop will be on the 18th November. The workshop will be focused around a performance here at the Maltings by two of the best contemporary circus companies, Barley Methodical Troupe and Collectif AOC. They will present an exciting double-bill of amazing acrobatic and BMX stunts. Before watching the show the show the group will work with Eagle Radio to record some audience interviews. After the show they will then ask and record some questions to the cast and record these for the radio show. The workshop will run from 6.00pm – 9.00pm and the group will meet in the Farnham Maltings foyer.
