In this unsettling time within the arts industry, artists, venues and makers are trying to find ways to continue their work safely and proactively. If you’re a theatre or craft maker, take a look below at just some of the projects and support we are offering that might be of help during this period.

support for venues applying for emergency funding

Alongside 30 nationwide organisations, Farnham Maltings is offering application advice, guidance and support to artists as part of New Diorama’s North Star Project. Inspired by the generosity of New Diorama, Farnham Maltings and house would like to extend it’s support to South East venues applying for Arts Council England non-NPO funding.

If you’re a venue in the South East house network applying for non-NPO emergency funding and would like feedback on your application, please get in touch via info@housetheatre.org.uk

advice sessions from our theatre team

Alongside our producing and touring arm of work, the theatre team offer advice sessions with any regionally-based company or artist to hear ideas and ambitions and offer advice on touring, production and funding applications. If you would like to meet for an initial conversation please contact our producer, Laura, laura.woodward@farnhammaltings.com, with a short introduction of who you are and the work that you make. You don’t have to have a specific project in mind to get in touch.

grants for continued creativity

At the end of March, Farnham Maltings invited south-east based theatre makers to submit applications to receive a commission to create new work ‘right now’ in these extraordinary and difficult times. Six projects have already been commissioned which you can read more about here. A further call out for applications is now open, closing date is 18 May 2020. Find out more here

craft sharings and professional development

Following on the heels of our annual yarn show unravel… a festival of yarn, the craft team have been keeping the festival feeling going on Instagram. They’ve been using our platform to profile some of the maker exhibitors from the show who are still up and running online. The craft team are also looking into offering professional development workshops for makers online. Stay tuned for more details or send an email to allison.thistlewood@farnhammaltings.com to register your interest in taking part.

During this period, we are working to remain as supportive as possible to artists across our networks. We wish you all the best and to stay safe.
