Our popular outdoor, free live music season Grills & Guitars returns for another summer of fantastic live music. Grills and guitars are the common denominator, but the similarities between each night end there. Eight superb and original acts perform every week, with a different culinary treat to enjoy each time. Join us outside every Friday for a glorious evening of food and free music.

Kicking off our Grills and Guitars summer is singer-songwriter Ben Roberts. Ben arrives at the Maltings with a great live pedigree, having played at Glastonbury, BBC Introducing and as a support act for Newton Faulkner and Gabrielle Aplin. Drawing inspiration from Rag ‘n’ Bone Man and Ben Howard, he’s sure to be a popular start to our free live music line-up.
Farnham duo Hels Palmer and Rachel Deadman provide a welcome local addition to our summer line-up. Singing about everything from love and life to seashells and ET, Little Iris are currently working on their debut album. And with a vegan option on the grill along with (or rather separate from) a meaty treat, this is an evening not to be missed by anyone.
Grizzly Rhys Morgan
Having played Boomtown and Weyfest with his band The Grasshoppers, bluesy multi-instrumentalist Grizzly Rhys Morgan is a blockbuster part three to our stellar summer of music. Ranging from melancholy folk songs to upbeat blues foot-stompers, this is music perfect for a late summer’s evening.
Steph Richardson Duo
A little bit of something different to welcome in August, the Steph Richardson duo combine original songwriting with jazz and soul classics. With a wealth of experience playing in jazz bands up and down the country, their sound is accomplished, smooth and relaxing.
Having played her way all around London for the past seven years, Emilie Cheshire personifies cool. Folksy and irresistibly feelgood, you’re guaranteed to tap along and summon up a summer smile.
Will Finn & Rosie Calvert
Dipping their toe into international waters at the 45,000 visitor Shantyfest in the Netherlands, Will Finn & Rosie Calvert are up-and-coming and dynamic, providing a fusion of folk songs with a more contemporary feel. With their debut album coming out, this is a great time to catch this North East duo.
Making good use of a loop pedal and a cajón (that percussive wooden box you sit on and hit), Vicki Sayers provides us with another original performance. Having played the streets of Windsor and London, Vicki can now boast performances at The Troubadour, Hard Rock Cafe and (very soon) the Farnham Maltings.
Providing a brilliant finale to our Grills and Guitars line-up, Will Shackleton comes to us via Abbey Road, having performed as a session artist for many major labels. See the summer out in style with one final night of free live music and great food.
All acts begin at 8:30pm with food being served from 7pm.
Pre-show dining and ticket £9. Must be booked by noon the day before.
