Riverside Café Gallery, Farnham Maltings
07 December 2019 – 10 January 2020
The Riverside Café Gallery is pleased to welcome Jackie Cooper with her exhibition Fluid Art, a collection of work created using the technique of paint pouring.
Fluid Acrylic Paint Pouring is a painting method that uses acrylic paint and pouring medium to create an organic free form painting with rich, vibrant swirls and cells of color. Without the use of paint brushes, Jackie uses techniques such as pouring, stirring and air blowing to create organic movement of the paint and unique results each time.
The abstract pieces are open to interpretation, whether it be reminiscent of moving water or the cloudy atmosphere of a distant planet but with the flowing paint and colours interacting in unpredictable ways, each new piece is unique and visually organic.
After graduating from Epson Art College in the 80’s, Jackie Cooper has been working in fine art specialising in animal portraits and hand painted T shirt designs for many years. A couple of years ago Jackie decided she wanted to work in abstract design and started the art of paint pouring, which is a relationship between the paint and the artist rather than the artist and a paint brush.
Jackie enjoys working on commissions – finding that working with the customer to find a colour and design that will work in their home very satisfying and working with interior designers to complement their work.
Jackie takes part in exhibitions and shows her work in various galleries around the country. She also does demonstrations and one to one teaching.
