Farnham in Colour
Riverside Café Gallery, Farnham Maltings
01 March – 29 March 2019
The Riverside Café Gallery is delighted to welcome local artist Rachel Hutchins with her exhibition Farnham in Colour, a collection of work celebrating her home town.
Working with her computer, Rachel uses her degree in graphic design to produce striking digital illustrations of Farnham. As an area of historical interest, with prominent buildings such as Farnham Castle and the ruins of Waverley Abbey to inspire, Rachel has been capturing the places and buildings that she considers to be iconic to the town and meaningful to its residents.
With her signature clean lines and bold use of accent colour, Rachel’s main goal with these technical drawings is to celebrate Farnham’s architectural heritage and to memorialise the beauty which she has had the privilege to grow up with.
Rachel studied graphic design at Farnham’s University for Creative Arts and graduated in 2004. Since then she has established herself as a portrait artist, having produced many commissioned paintings. Last year in 2017 Rachel started to get back into graphic design and produced a selection of Farnham illustrations. Over the last 12 months Rachel has sold her pieces at the Maltings monthly market and has also taken part in an illustration exhibition at the New Ashgate Gallery.
Work is available to purchase. For all sale enquiries please visit the Box Office or email your interest to Jackie.firstname.lastname@example.org.
