Partially woven basket on table with hand threading next twine though. Top part of basket still to be finished

Enjoy two days creating your own willow basket with expert willow weaver Judith Needham.

Over the two days you will make a decent-sized basket whether that be a wastepaper basket, shopper, fruit bowl or small log basket, the choice is yours.

You will be using the stake-and-strand method with a circular English base and you will be able to choose a border style and add a handle if you wish.

There are lots of different stages to making a basket so, over the two days, you will be learning new things all the time. Making your first basket will be a really rewarding experience and you'll find that baskets look so different when you have a real understanding of how they are put together. You will get huge satisfaction from starting with such a basic raw material and finishing up with a strong, useful and beautiful product.

If you have particular ideas about what you want to make please contact Judith at least 2 weeks before the class to discuss.

All materials provided.
