- Start: Wednesday 24 June - 14:00
- Auditorium: Virtual Meeting
Part of our Virtual Workshops Pilot Project – this workshop is being delivered virtually via Zoom to allow participants to join in from the comfort of their own homes. The Zoom meeting link and pre-workshop worksheet will be sent to participants the week before the workshop. Please note that this workshop is aimed at makers and creative small business owners. Space is limited to 10 participants.
Web Presence for Makers is designed for makers who want to improve their web presence. Maybe you have an old website, or one that's difficult to update, or maybe you're using Facebook or Instagram as your main online point of contact.
This workshop will help you identify what features you want your site to have. We'll then explore some of the many low-cost options available, and look at how to evaluate them against what you need your website to do. At the end of the first session you should be confident making a short list of options, and know how to test them out.
In the second session we'll explore what you've learned, help you come to a final decision, and get you started on building your new site.
- One pre-workshop worksheet
- One 90 minute Zoom session
- A two week break where you test out what you've learned
- One 60 minute follow up Zoom session
Date: 24 June 2020 – the follow up Zoom session is scheduled for 8 July at 2pm
Time: 2pm – 3:30pm
Workshop Fee: £25
Marna Gilligan worked as a web developer for over 20 years before leaving that field for a complete change and setting up her own small, creative business, An Caitin Beag. She knows a lot about the pitfalls and possibilities of website development, and also of the constraints and needs of small businesses.
