Learn how to knit mitred squares and turn them into beautiful and useful objects. Use leftover yarn to experiment playfully and build confidence in working with many colours.

During the workshop you will knit simple mitred squares to explore different approaches to working with colour. The pattern for the mitred squares can be used to make a cowl, scarf, cushion, bag or garment.

Key content includes how to:

  • Knit a mitred square
  • Introduce new colours
  • Manage the ends
  • Build blocks of squares

We will also look at sources of colour inspiration and how they can be used in building a colour project for a project. We will look at ways of reviewing your stash and enhancing it to create a personal palette.

Suitable for those who know how to cast on, knit and cast off.

Materials required:

  • Leftover DK or fingering weight yarn
