Working with stretch fabric can be tricky – on this workshop you will learn all the skills you need plus make an easy to wear pull on skirt. Practice using a commercial pattern, cut out and construct your skirt. The pattern from The Maker’s Atelier will be provided as well as elastic for the waist and interfacing for the hem.
Suitable for beginner/intermediate
All materials provided. You will need to bring 80cm of 150cm wide stretch fabric and matching thread.
Claire has been a seamstress and dressmaking tutor for many years. From making wedding dresses to running a fabric store Claire has always loved working with fabric and makes all her own clothes. About eight years ago Claire started teaching and as well as teaching at the Knitting and Stitching shows around the country, now has her own sewing school in Midhurst, West Sussex. Claire also teaches at Creative Sewing Weekends and writes features for magazines as well as continuing to make for clients, including The Goodwood Actors Guild.
