An audience of children and adults watch a man playing the viola

Join cinema composers Gareth Wilkins (piano, harp) and Kieron Chissik (guitar, viola) and create live scores for award-winning animation.

Become a growing forest, an ocean, gnashing teeth, a flying horse, a penguin and much more. Bring to life hand-crafted animation in films inspired by the Jubilee celebrations from as early as 1926!

Be thrilled by the elf princesses and goblin princes of 'Big Underground Ball' (1987), Lotte Reineger's cut-out animation 'Prince Ahmed' from 1926 and 'Where the Wild Things Are' starring Max, King of the Wild Things from 1973.

"Thanks so much for a truly amazing show - I absolutely love what you do. It’s just so unique and in a world of CGI and flashy 3D animation, the beautiful, textual, thought provoking world you opened the children up to was very special and memorable."

what to expect

A participatory live cinema event in which family audiences help musicians create live FX* to award-winning international animation. Kieron & Gareth will invite audiences to become a forest growing, an ocean, gnashing teeth, a flying horse, a penguin, an owl and a snail (what does a snail sound like, you may ask), by using their voice or instruments provided.
