Tutors: Alice and Ginny

Alice and Ginny is a collaboration of friends Alice Butcher and Ginny Farquhar to provide fun, informative sewing workshops that focus on student development and of building good core sewing skills enabling greater confidence for independent sewing.

Alice trained as a printed textile designer and went on to work in the fabric department at Liberty's of London and later ran the Liberty sewing school.

Ginny trained as a theatrical costumier and has extensive experience making & supervising the production of costumes for theatre and dance.

They began working together in 2001 when they ran 'Folkydokee Handmade' making gifts for the retail market from recycled and vintage fabrics. In 2008 their first sewing book, 'Sew Fabulous Fabric' was published and a year later they wrote their second book 'Home Sweet Sewn'. Both books are published by David and Charles.

In 2008 they started teaching workshops. They collaborate as Alice and Ginny and are both qualified tutors and have vast experience of working in schools and with community groups.
