07-Sep Introduction to dressmaking, with Alice Butcher
Interactive talk explaining how to navigate new patterns, select best materials and how to tackle making something new. Wear something comfy and close fitting as we’ll take measurements. We’ll provide examples, tape measures and notes.
14-Sep Making gift boxes, with Tina Proctor
Making small gift boxes using recycled cards perfect for small treats. Bring old greetings cards (ideally ones not too stiff).
21-Sep Online oral history podcasts, with Sound Vault
New Maltings resident, the Sound Vault, are recording stories from Farnham for radio. This is an introduction to the endless and fascinating world of resources and podcasts to be found online and a taster of the actvitiy that Sound Vault are starting at the Maltings.
28-Sep Drama Workshop at Farnham Museum
Theatre workshop using the Museum of Farnham’s Gallery and beautiful garden as inspiration. (Meet at Garden Gallery, Museum of Farnham, 38 West Street GU9 7DX)

Free workshops for Craft Month. We’ll be creating a quilt together which will be exhibited at Festival of Crafts. No charge.
02-Nov Book making, with Angela Thames
Make a unique notebook using the long stitched method of bookbinding. This is a non adhesive method allowing for any paper grain or thickness of paper to be used. The book will have a stitched spine, thick paper cover and blank pages inside. Bring your own decorative papers or envelopes.
09-Nov Christmas decorations, with Tina Proctor
Sewing simple heart Christmas decorations from felt and materials. Can be made into garlands or hung on a tree.

Making Christmas cards etching your own design and then printing cards. Bring any images you like as a prompt for a design. (Make over 2 weeks, but you are welcome to join for only one session)
07-Dec History of the Maltings through photography
A short talk about the History of Farnham Maltings using images, followed by an interactive photography walk around the building. Led by the Maltings’ photographer in residence. Bring your own a digital camera, if you have one.
14-Dec Christmas decorations, with Flora Gare
Learn how to work with coloured copper wire in this workshop creating your own holly or mistletoe with winter berries as a gift or Christmas decoration. There will be individual guidance and step by step instruction. All materials provided. Please bring a small pair of pliers with you if you already have them.
21-Dec Decorate a stollen cake, with Coral Turan
Decorate and ice a Stollen loaf cake.
