workshop description:

Capture the swift and graceful movement of a swallow out of coloured copper wire to display in a flower pot or garden border. Instructions will be given on how to sculpt with wire; learning to trace, join and shape it working from a drawing.

materials:

All wire included and a metal rod, but if you have a small pair of pliers please bring them along.

Tutor: Flora Gare

Flora is a sculptor and has been teaching drawing and sculpture in workshops, schools and adult education for over 20 years.
She graduated with an MA in Sculpture from Winchester School of Art and has since undertaken exhibitions and public commissions for various spaces such as hospitals, swimming pools and galleries including the New Ashgate gallery, Farnham. Inspired by the elements of light and water she uses delicate materials to explore time, memory and nostalgia in original and unexpected ways.
