Workshop description:

Perfect for beginners, learn how to use a needle, cloth and dye to create a series of experimental samples. Explore a variety of ways to create Shibori by using wrap, stitch, fold and twisting techniques. To create your own unique handkerchief, the same techniques can be applied to create larger artworks/ t-shirts etc.

Materials: All materials are provided.


Tutor: Nao Fukumoto O'Neill

Nao is textile designer and weaver with over 18 years’ experience creating textiles and Japanese crafts workshops. She graduated a Masters degree at Okinawa Prefecture University of Arts in Japan, participated in the exchange program at Surrey Institute Art and Design (UCA) Textile MA, and has won numerous awards for her work.
