Create your own tapestry with a frame loom, using natural dyed yarns. Our resident weaver Nao, will show you how to set up a warp on the frame, the process of weaving and some techniques, patterns, and fringes. Nao has 20 years experience in textiles. Nao is a weaver and dyer and had designed textiles for over 20 years. She has studied hand woven textiles in Okinawa, Japan and has a deep knowledge of traditional Okinawan weaving skills.
Tutor name: Nao Fukumoto O'Neill
Nao is textile designer and weaver with over 18 years’ experience creating textiles and Japanese crafts workshops. She graduated a Masters degree at Okinawa Prefecture University of Arts in Japan, participated in the exchange program at Surrey Institute Art and Design (UCA) Textile MA, and has won numerous awards for her work.
