Talk by Grace Evans, Keeper of Costume, Chertsey Museum. Grace will take you on a walk through the story of women’s emancipation and its connection to the history of dress. Starting in the 1840s and taking in the Suffragettes along the way, the talk will end with the fight for women’s lib and 1980s power dressing.
This talk complements an exhibition of women’s dress and a display of Suffragette memorabilia which can be seen at Chertsey Museum until early September 2018.
