FAOS Musical Theatre Group present an unmissable dark and witty tale of love, murder, and revenge. With superb music and lyrics by Stephen Sondheim, arguably the greatest contemporary musical composer, this show has been described as his most perfect score.

The legendary tale set in Victorian London, follows Todd as he arrives back in the city, after deportation and imprisonment in Australia, seeking blood thirsty revenge. A chance meeting with Mrs Lovett in her East End pie shop brings a deadly accomplice to his schemes, with an outrageously humorous and chilling plan.

Since Victorian times and the Penny Dreadful publications, the public have had a macabre fascination with this shocking story. Thanks to this award-winning musical and it's thrilling score, full of complex harmony, soaring beauty, pitch-black comedy and stunning terror, you too can enter the streets of Victorian London and share in Sweeney Todd and Mrs Lovett’s despicable plan, if you dare!

In the words of Sondheim himself, “I made Sweeney to scare an audience, that was my entire purpose” for that and for some of the themes within the story.

“Wow. Simply wow. Is there an amateur dramatics group anywhere that can produce shows like the FAOS Musical Theatre Group?”
