Refreshers: a festival of retirement is returning at the new evening time of 3pm-8pm, Monday 4 March 2019.
Refreshers is an annual festival at Farnham Maltings designed especially for those who have retired, or are approaching retirement, to find new connections and fresh inspiration.
Taking the model of a typical university freshers fair, Refreshers showcases a wide range of clubs, societies, organisations and companies each with diverse opportunities for those living and thriving nearby.
Retirement doesn’t have to mean a time to start slowing down, it can be a fantastic chance to take up a range of new hobbies, learn something new and give a little time back to the community.
Refreshers is organised as part of Farnham Maltings’ Arts & Health programme and in collaboration with Meet Me at the Maltings. For more details, please visit our arts & health pages.

Abbeyfield Wey Valley Society
Abbeyfield Wey Valley Society provides care for the older person in Farnham and the surrounding areas. Providing Home care, Residential care or Nursing care. Our fees reflect our charitable status.
The Basingstoke Canal Society
The Basingstoke Canal Society protects and develops the Basingstoke Canal for the local community, clubs and boaters. We have over 200 volunteers in various roles – please come and join us!
Bishops Meadow Trust/space2grow
The Bishops Meadow Trust and the space2grow are developing a partnership to provide the local community a space to explore nature and do some practical gardening in the centre of the busy town of Farnham.
Brigitte Gillespie Patchwork
Brigitte teaches patchwork and quilting from her home. Her students create their own piece with her help. The classes are 3 hour long in order to enjoy the process. They take place when the student is ready to tackle the next stage. Some students do come on a regular basis for “me” time!
Candy Tours provide day trips and short break holidays picking up at various points around Farnham and Alton. Other routes include Haslemere and Hindhead. Please ring for a free brochure.

Change of Scene
Change of Scene is a small charity working with children at risk of school exclusion. Working outdoors with animals and horticulture, we provide a different way of learning to help our attendees re-engage with sustainable education. We would welcome volunteer Friends of CoS to help with fundraising.

Since 1968 The Farnham Building Preservation Trust has acquired threatened heritage buildings, restored them and recycled them back into the community for posterity.
Farnham Geological Society
To promote interest in geology and its allied science for people of all levels of geological knowledge. It holds monthly meetings and regular field trips.
Humanism is a positive life stance centred on people. Farnham Humanists is a flourishing group of Humanists, and people with similar views and beliefs, who enjoy sharing ideas, monthly talks from invited speakers, contributing to the community and socialising.

Many essential public services are provided by Farnham Town Council but we also organise, run, enable and support activities throughout the year to make Farnham a great place to live, work and do business.

FATN Talking News is a Farnham based volunteer charity which provides free audio versions of local periodicals for visually impaired listeners in Farnham, Alton, Fleet, and Haslemere. We have vacancies for Readers, Recording Engineers, and Production Assistants.

Phyllis Tuckwell is the only Hospice for adult patients, and their families, across the whole of West Surrey and part of North East Hampshire. We are committed to involving members of our local community through providing opportunities for volunteering in Farnham and the Beacon Centre in Guildford.

Farnham Weyside Rotary Club supports charities in the local community and raises funds to help good causes in the UK and internationally. They meet approximately once a week and have both male and female members. The social side of the club involves an annual golf day, wine tasting evening, film night and quizzes.
The Spire Church, Farnham

The William Cobbett Society
The William Cobbett Society was founded in 1976 to bring together those with an interest in the life and writings of William Cobbett. Born in Farnham in 1763, he was a great radical reformer. He fought for democracy and the common man. The centre for research is at the Museum of Farnham.
