We recently held our first outreach keepsake boxes project to a local care home, hosted the first birthday party of Driving Miss Daisy and held our first Chaos Choir , a child-friendly choir for new parents.   Click here for photos and some comments on how it went.

As part of Dementia Awareness Week, we ran a moving and intimate Take Care drama session on Tues 17 May, specifically for carers of people with dementia. These pilot sessions will continue in the autumn.

Free Celebration Event for Older Adults

As part of Waverley’s Living Well Week 2016, we are delighted to announce a special celebration event on the afternoon of Saturday 1 October at Godalming Masonic Hall. The event includes participatory dance and music (although participation is not compulsory!), quizzes, inspirational speakers and afternoon tea.  Transport is available to enable residents from across Waverley to attend.

It will be a chance to celebrate the contribution that older people make to our communities in Waverley, as well as providing an opportunity to get involved in new activities and meet new people.

We would be grateful if you would encourage older residents in your community and those that you or your colleagues work with to attend. We sometimes hear from residents that they can feel isolated at the weekend, so we hope that this Saturday event will be an opportunity for older adults from across Waverley to enjoy a fun and sociable afternoon for FREE.

Booking is essential and places will be offered on a first come, first served basis to Waverley residents only.
