A new community outreach programme taking crafting to care homes and hospices.
On Mon 06 June 2016 we held our first outreach Making Keepsake Boxes at Huntington House Care Home in Hindhead, which was ‘a lovely morning‘ and ‘such good fun‘ for residents.
These sessions are available free of charge until March 2017 to anyone who wants us to run one in their centre.
Participants can create a beautiful space for happy memories to treasure or leave as a legacy. Spend quiet creative time together with your loved one to make a personal memory box filled with photographs and personal keepsakes. Alternatively, you can create one in memory of someone who is no longer with us.
Please bring your box, photos and keepsakes with you and artist Stacey Allan will talk you through ideas for organising and decorating them. Materials will be provided, as will spare boxes.
Your finished boxes might become welcome havens to return to in order to conjure up happy memories or to spark a conversation on a rainy day. Whatever your circumstances, they will be personally crafted and organised by you to suit your taste, in harmony with your belongings.
