caravan assembly

our biennial platform of new performance

A red lighthouse with a bright blue sky.

The caravan assembly is a curated gathering of performance makers and international programmers and producers around a particular theme. The ambition is to encourage dialogue, exchange and collaboration. The 2022 assembly will take place from the 22nd-24th May 2022 as part of the Brighton Festival as both a physical and virtual event.

The 2022 assembly will focus on Socially Engaged Practice - exploring how artists and theatre makers working in England, are actively involving people and communities in the way they make and present their work.

Companies and artists will have the opportunity to participate in the assembly in a range of ways including:

  • Public performances – that sit in traditional and non-traditional spaces or environments, that are live or digital or presented through another medium.
  • Pitch Sessions – a series of short sessions to pitch ideas or projects to the assembly attendees
  • Talks, Q&As, panel discussions, presentations and networking opportunities.
