our brand new autumn yarn event, welcoming makers and creatives of all abilities. For many makers, this is a time to cast on a new jumper or to start looking at patterns, put together countless combinations of yarns, colours and textures and think about new techniques to learn.

Our new sweater weather celebration promises to create an intimate community craft experience, both for those who have just discovered the joy of knitting and for avid yarn enthusiasts.

sweater weather takes place on Fri 10 & Sat 11 September 2021. The festival runs from 9am to 4pm daily.

timed-entry tickets

Tickets to sweater weather are only available in advance and all tickets are timed-entry. You can join the queue 15 minutes before your scheduled time. You have 45 minutes from the time on your ticket to enter the building.

Once you are in the building you may stay as long as you like. A one-way system will be in operation throughout the building.

New in 2021 all talks and special events with sweater weather have moved online. All in-person tickets include access to the online programme.

Not able to join us in-person at sweater weather? A virtual-only ticket can be purchased separately.


Workshop purchases are final sale and non-refundable. If you are unable to attend and will be sending someone in your place please let us know no later than midnight on 3 September 2021.

Workshop purchases include admission to the sweater weather marketplace on the same day as your workshop only. Workshop attendees may enter the marketplace from 9am on the same day as their workshop.

Please check in for your workshop at the Information Desk in the foyer next to the Box Office at least 15 minutes before your class.

food and on-site cafe

The Foyer Bar will be open during the festival serving a variety of snacks and teas and coffees for takeaway only. Alternatively there are many local cafes and restaurants nearby or a short walk away from the Maltings.

cash and card payments

There is no cash ATM on site at the Maltings. Many exhibitors take card payments but not all. Should you need a cash point there are a NatWest, HSBC and Barclays a quick 10 minute walk away on The Borough. A Lloyds Bank is also nearby on Castle Street.
