Maltings Sound Vault – The Farnham Maltings are creating a ‘radio space for all’ and we need your help!

We will be launching the ’Maltings Sound Vault’
It aims to give a platform for anyone to create radio programmes using the possibilities delivered by the accessibility of podcasting.

We will be creating studio space at the Farnham Maltings, and using portable digital recording equipment to capture programme material. And we will be launching a dedicated online home for our ’shows’, as well as an associated social media presence.

Stay tuned!
Initially, we will aim to curate programmes in the following areas:-
Maltings +
Bringing an audio dimension to the Farnham Maltings programme;
Providing a platform for voices from the street, digital heritage/oral history and powerful storytelling from Farnham, the communities in the surrounding Surrey/Hampshire border areas, and connecting with the rest of the world;
Audio Collage
Providing an outlet for audio collages and sound creations – where music meets speech;
Specialist Music
Exploring music genres missing the platform they deserve elsewhere on the radio.

Above all, we will be celebrating listening in all its forms, sharing great radio from around the world with signposts, links and recommendations.

We are looking for you!
We are looking for anyone interested in volunteering and being part of our mission. You might have expertise or experience in any of the following areas – or just be keen to get involved:-
• Technical;
• Production;

Ultimately, we will be reaching out to the community, to capture their sounds, and help them put their stories on-air. If you think you might want to get involved, or find out more, please email the project leader Paul Simpson to be kept in touch with the project.
