Following a successful trial run of joint programming last October with Kill the Beast’s hilarious production of He Had Hairy Hands, Farnham Maltings and the West End Centre are once again joining forces this Autumn. The theatres will be showing 2 productions over two successive days to enable more people locally to experience some of the freshest and most innovative touring theatre.
We’re also happy to announce that a brand new group, Theatre Club has been set up to form a social group of local people in Farnham and Aldershot that are interested in seeing and talking about contemporary theatre in the region.

Theatre Club Farnham
Theatre Club is a new group for anyone in the Farnham and Aldershot area who wants to see and talk about contemporary theatre. A bit like a book group, once a month or so they’ll pick a show at the Maltings, the West End Centre or further afield that’s exciting, interesting or thought provoking, and meet afterwards in the bar to swap opinions and thoughts.
Come if you loved the show or hated it, know what it meant, or if it made no sense at all. Come if you’re a regular theatre attender, think you ought to come more often, or just fancy doing something a bit different and meeting people to chat to about it. Everyone is welcome to just drop in and attendance is free. The Theatre Club is a chance to meet other theatregoers, share in great conversation, and find out about other theatrical and cultural events in the area.
Wed 14 September – Every Brilliant Thing, West End Centre, Aldershot – The story of a six year old boy and his mother who suffers from depression. A beautiful piece of storytelling told from a joyful, heartfelt and completely human perspective.
Tue 11 October – Operation Crucible, Farnham Maltings – Set against the backdrop of the Sheffield Blitz, Operation Crucible is the extraordinary true story of four ordinary men trapped in a hotel basement .
Thu 17 November – Key Change, Farnham Maltings – an intense, raw and illuminating portrayal of women in prison. Devised with women from Her Majesty’s Prison Low Newton
Tue 29 November – From Ibiza to the Norfolk Broads, Farnham Maltings (or Wed 30 November at West End Centre) – Adrian Berry’s acclaimed sell-out production returns in this tale of a young David Bowie obsessive.
To join the club all you need to do is book tickets to any of these theatre shows and then join the group that will meet in the bar for a drink and a conversation following the theatre piece. Anyone is welcome and the club will continue to grow and evolve based on the group’s preferences and what exciting new theatrical performances come to the local area.
